While it is nice to kick back on vacation with an active internet service and phone signal, and relax in casual clothing such as jeans and shorts that pack easily and come out looking great, most of the time you want at least an outfit or two for going out on the town. For these excursions and other times when jeans are just not appropriate you want something nice but wonder what you can pack that will come out of the suitcase looking better than, well, something that came out of a suitcase.
The first thing to look for is materials that lend themselves well to being packed. Crinkly materials for example are already so wrinkled by nature that an extra wrinkle here or there is not going to be noticeable. Certain synthetic blend materials are practically unable to be wrinkled; they just flow naturally regardless of what you do to them.
One thing to avoid is a dress that requires dry cleaning. If it is a hand washable dress then if worse comes to worse you can wash it in the sink at the hotel and hang it to dry to remove the wrinkles. Choose lightweight materials that will dry easily.
There are a number of retailers that carry a line of clothing designed for travel. Chico’s Travelers line is quite popular with frequent travelers as is Magellan’s line of travel-friendly clothing.
Whether taking a weekend trip or traveling around the world, we all want to look nice while on a vacation. With a little planning and careful packing, this is not impossible to accomplish.
